Important Information When Surrendering Your Ferret(s):

The transition to an unfamiliar place can be stressful for any ferret, and older ferrets are particularly susceptible to stress. When surrendering a ferret of any age, you can help make the transition as smooth as possible in the following ways:

  • Surrender your ferret’s belongings with them since these items are familiar to them.
  • Bring some of your ferret’s food so that if we need to change the food, we
may do so slowly, reducing the chance of a ferret ulcer or stomach ache.
  • Keep cagemates together; if you surrender your ferrets together they will be kept in the same foster home and adopted out together as a pair or group.

If you have made the decision to surrender your ferret(s), please complete the Surrender Request Form.
